Isanawidya Paramita
DPhil Student in Clinical Medicine
Isana is a DPhil candidate in Clinical Medicine and is a member of Wolfson College. She obtained medical doctor degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada Indonesia and continued MSc in Immunology and Inflammatory Disease in the University of Glasgow with the support of Chevening Scholarships from the UK Government. Currently, she received funding from Indonesian Government for her DPhil study.
Isana has a strong interest in infectious diseases, global health, and cellular immunity, mainly exploring unconventional T cells response in infectious disease with diabetes. Her current research focuses on the role of gamma delta T cells response in people with type 2 diabetes to infection. This research aims to identify immune responses that underlie disease severity and will define new vaccination strategies for vulnerable populations.
Recently, she has established a large spectral flow cytometry panel with 35 markers. This panel will be utilised to explore gamma delta T cell responses in acute melioidosis and acute COVID-19 patients with and without diabetes.
