David Burton is a Chartered Management Accountant with extensive experience in the commercial and non-for-profit sectors. Over the last 15 years the majority of his roles have been based in Asia in a variety of senior and strategic operations leadership positions. His current role with MORU has responsibility for Finance, Logistics, Funding, Administration, IT, Communications, Human Resources, Health & Safety, Assurance, Legal and Security for all the sites under the MORU health Network.
David leads the Centre’s business and operations team to deliver high quality systems and services to support the delivery of over 100 research grants with an annual activity of £15m - £20m across multiple geographic locations. Furthermore he takes the lead on the strategic planning process, financial planning and risk management. To ensure success of MORU’s strategic objectives, he works closely with the MORU Director, Oxford University support teams and Wellcome (the primary donor).
