Worarat Khuenpetch
Administrative Assistant
Worarat Khuenpetch is a Administrative Assistant in the Epidemiology Department, Mahidol Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit (MORU). Worarat obtained a BSc in Soil Science from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and a Masters of Public Administration from Chulalongkorn University. Currently, she is studying law at Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University and pursuing a PhD in International Development from the University of Birmingham, UK.
Worarat’s prior work experience includes stints at Bangkok University International College, the Embassy of Colombia to Thailand, the German International Organization (GIZ) and international companies IBM, EMC, SAS, DKSH, Crown Worldwide Group, Bangchak Biofuel, and Friesland Foods Foremost. An active animal rights activist, Worarat also volunteers at the Thai Animal Guardians Association (Thai AGA), the Thailand animal rescue organization that succeeded in enacting Thailand’s first animal welfare law, The Cruelty Prevention and Welfare of Animal Act, B.E. 2557 (2014).
Worarat’s research interests include public policy, local government and finance, good governance and anti-corruption, children’s and women’s rights, environment and animal rights, and multiculturalism.
